Having fun with scraps

This is a fun and easy block made entirely of scraps. (What quilter doesn’t have a ton of those). It is a great way to use up small pieces and turn them into something useful and pretty. Each block consists of 4 main color and 2 secondary color squares cut at 2 1/2″, 6 background squares at 2 1/2″ and four half square triangles from background and secondary color. If you are not sure how to do a half square triangle check out Nancy J. Martin’s “Time Crunch Quilts” from That Patchwork Place!.
This is a picture of a quilt made with the block described. You can see that you get a star block in the secondary color and a “chain” in the main color. Fun and easy!
